Wscinson Dlels Wkened

For those of you who couldn't/didn't go, shame. For those who did, WHOOP!

It was more fun than I expected actually. I arrived at 5 PM on Friday and got checked into the hotel. Then I hit the grocery stores with my pops where we got the basics: bread, cheese, carrots, vegetable dip, milk, orange juice, and caffeine-free Pepsi. I also swung into K-Mart to see if they had an adapter for a PS2 unit, which Josh and I brought along. But, much to my dismay, they didn't. Then we slept until 7:30 when the bible study began. It was given by Mr. Mike Ellertson on the book of Esther. It was pretty interesting. He brought up some neat facts about where it fits in the whole timeline of things (between Ezra 6 and 7). Afterwards I fellowshipped until 9:30, at which time the Rankins arrived and the party started! Not really, but I did get a chance to talk to them for awhile. At about 10 I went to bed to get a sufficient rest for the big day...

6:50 AM, I'm up and ready to go. Why so early? I still don't know. I made a pot of coffee and waited until my Dad and Josh got up. When they did (around 7:40), we headed out to the hall (2 miles away) to help set up. That took about 45 minutes and afterwards I went to eat the Hearty Platter. It was a decent breakfast buffet; nothing special. When I finished eating, I headed back to the hotel and caught a quick nap before getting ready for services.

The service went quite well. Mr. Lovelady gave the sermonette on our "sight". Not just physical sight. Mr. Millich gave the sermon on parenting, so I didn't pay as much attention as I normally would have...

When services were over, I talked for about 30 minutes. Then I had to assist in the taking down/setting up process, once again. When that was finished, there was a two hour break until the meal. That was spent talking to Elsie and Cathy (woot!). They taught me the "elevator jump" and Cathy made the alarm go off. At 5:30 we set off back to the main hall and ate "Chuckwagon Surprise" and "Trail Delight" , something to that effect, both of them were DELICIOUS. When the meal was over I had the opportunity to again assist in the take down/set up process. That's when the talent show began. I won't make many comments about it because a few would end up being mean. Jake Wilson, Lisa Kreyer, Leona Dorothy and Terri Dorothy had good acts. That's all I'll say.

Then... once again... I had the opportunity to assist in the take down/set up process. This time it was to clear the dance floor. The dance was pretty short, lasting only an hour and a half, but it was fun. I got to dance with all of the Ranking sisters, stepping on Ann's foot numerous time (sorry), while trying, and failing, to avoid the little children running about the dance floor. Finally I just starting tripping the innocent toddlers (Insert Evil Laugh Here). When the dance ended I got to do what? You guessed it, take down and set up for the breakfast the next day. That night I hit the hot-tub, pool, and sauna. It was refreshing. I ended up getting to bed at about 1 AM. Not bad, I guess.

Sunday morning I went immediately to the breakfast and ate french toast with turkey ham. Afterwards I went back to the hotel and watched ESPN. Then when my mom and Josh got up I went back to the hall to eat breakfast, again. At around 1 PM they started clearing the hall, and this time I managed to avoid cleaning up. When that was over I went to Taco Bell with Josh, my mom, Jon, Desiree, Martin, Kristin, Jeremy, and Ann. I ate too much and then got in the car and headed home...

Now I have to write a paper for English. It should go okay because I'm wired from an energy drink.
P.S. Read Annette's blog for an explaination for the title.

I'm Back....

The end of Spring Break is drawing near for me. Only one more day and the weekend before school begins once again. This spring break was slightly odd because in Ellsworth we got nearly 22" of snow. It seems that this conundrum should have occured during Winter Break. But whatever, I just spent my 4 days shoveling snow. Which wasn't so bad because it offset the oversleeping, overeating I did. I should be getting in shape for tennis but food tastes better and sleep is easier. Though I did play tennis with Josh twice this week. It was a lot of fun. I enjoy the extra reach and speed that came with my 4 inches of growth since last tennis season. I am also able to hit a one-handed backhand because of the strength that I have aquired from lifting weights. This season should go very well. I hope it does because it will be my only year of tennis (baseball is moving from summer to spring in '07).
Besides shoveling, sleeping, eating, and tennis, I haven't done much. Tomorrow I plan on doing some serious Bible reading because I didn't do as much as I could have this week. Which is rather foolish, seeing that I had plenty of time. Anyways, I just want to let all you guys and girls who read this blog know that I appreciate it. It's nice to have devoted friends like you.
