KC Weekend
Where do I start...
Friday would make sense. After a 9 hour drive we arrived at the Days Inn at around 4:30. Josh and my mom went out to return some dress shoes because Josh's were falling apart and he had only had them since the feast. Jeff, the Lee boys, and I stayed at the hotel and sat around for awhile. When Josh got back we went to the Bible Study. It was incredible seeing all the kids from camp and the feast. I was able to talk with people for about 35 minutes before the Study began. Mr. Millich gave it on the book of Proverbs. It was interesting.
After it got over we had about an hour to fellowship. Then we went out to eat with the Lees and Kreyers. A move I still don't understand, seeing as we go out to eat with them all the time back home. When we got back to the hotel I found the Flarp. You can read about that on Josh's blog. Anyways, that was fun throwing around for awhile.
Saturday morning I got up before anyone else in the room so I went down to the breakfast. It was mediocre, but I did get to talk to Charles which is always a treat. Then I went to church services where, the same as last year, it was completely packed. We were able to find some seats in the back. Mr. Smith gave an excellent sermonette on Fellowship and Mr. Solomon gave an equally good sermon about being the "Salt of the Earth." (Matthew 5:13) After services we were slightly rushed to leave because the dance wasn't at the school as it was last year. Which also meant they were not going to have a meal. After asking around we decided on going to the Macaroni Grill, a local Italian place. The food was good and we finished with plenty of time to spare before the dance, but the waiter was a rookie and had an extremely difficult time splitting the bill into 4 tabs. It took over 35 minutes to get that straightened out. That brought us to 6:10 PM and the dance had started at 6. The Lee boys still had to change into their costumes which were back at the hotel. We ended up missing the firs 45 minutes of the dance.
The dance itself wasn't too bad. I didn't feel like dancing much but I did anyways. Afterwards Josh along with a bunch of other people went to the Wilson's place. The Lee's and I went back to the hotel and ate vast amounts of ice cream while watching Ultimate Fighting until 3 AM. It was pretty cool.
Sunday we went to the basketball tourney. My team was rather lacking in the height category. Todd Ries was the tallest player coming in at a monstrous 5'9". The other players were Darren Lee and Ben Graham. We lost our first game to Josh, Martin, KARL (seriously, how were we supposed to win), and Mike Heykoop. I can't remember the score but it was pretty bad. Karl is actually quite good at basketball. He can both ball-handle and shoot well for someone of his tremendous height. The other game was slightly better. They had Kyle Gilchrist, Juan Bermudez, and two other people who I don't know. That game was 11-6. I had 4 points and Darren had the other 2. After we lost those two we just shot around for a couple hours with a pick up game every now and then.
Right now I'm in Cedar Rapids at my sister's place. We have 4 hours to go and we'll be leaving at about 3.

Actually, we didn't return my shoes, I had NO shoes at the time. Mom already had returned them before. And the second game you lost was to us. And yes, Karl really impressed me with his shooting and handling skills.
